Preston were formed in 1971, playing under the name Duke of York, they are the only surviving team who were founder members of the North West Women’s Football League. They were then known as Preston Rangers WFC and have been NWWRF League Champions on several occasions, and have also won the League Cup and Lancashire Cup respectively. Preston have been competing in the top tier of the FA Women’s Football League since 2006.
