Official Home of Preston North End Women FC
This Sunday will see PNE travel up to Durham Wildcats LFC in the FA Cup 3rd round. This follows two very convincing wins for both clubs in the 2nd round of the cup. Durham gave Northern Combination title chasers Sheffield Wednesday FC a shock by beating them 4-1 away.
PNE were handed a tricky home tie to Midlands Combination league leaders Stoke City LFC. With an excellent performance from Preston the final score ended 7-3 and a very worthy home win. The game also allowed Preston to give valuable experience to youngster Emily Hutton who was very impressive on the day.
Preston's Manager Luke Swindlehurst comments on this week’s fixture
"We are showing good signs at the moment and have done all year. We have worked very hard to be a difficult side to play against and have played to our strengths which has been the key to some good football displays this season.
I feel Durham will be a tough test for us but one I really look forward to as they are an unknown entity. Both clubs have not met before and it will be very interesting to see how we match up. Durham do play good football so we'll need to be at our best to get through.
I do believe the experience of our squad will be a telling factor in getting the win we need to progress to the next round."
